The V.A.V. (Visual Arts Visuels) Gallery is a student-run exhibition space at Concordia University. Exhibitions are held all year round, changing every three weeks. As well as the regular exhibition schedule, the VAV also hosts a variety of special events and projects throughout the year. These include collaborations, workshops, lectures, panel discussions, the Art Matters festival and the Annual Graduating Students’ Exhibition.
As the web designer, I worked collaboratively with the VAV to redesign the VAV website. The new website functions as an online gallery space. The creative revamp includes a dynamic home page, a page to showcase the VAV’s resources, a page to host virtual exhibitions, and a page to host online residencies. Most of student life is online during the COVID-19 pandemic, so this project was a step in transitioning a physical art space into an online experience.
